Each year, thousands of children face the heartbreaking experience of losing a parent. This loss can create emotional, financial, and social challenges that profoundly impact their well-being. Unfortunately, many children in grief are left without the support they need, particularly those from underserved communities. Without proper intervention, these children may struggle with mental health issues, academic challenges, and difficulties in building positive relationships.

Heart of LegacyNFP was founded to address these needs and provide specialized programs that empower grieving children to heal and thrive. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive space where children can express their grief, receive professional counseling, and connect with peers who understand their experience.

Program Description:

At Heart of LegacyNFP, we offer a comprehensive set of services for children and their families, including:

Grief Counseling: One-on-one and group counseling sessions with licensed therapists, tailored to the unique needs of children who have lost a parent.
Mentorship Program: A mentorship initiative where children are paired with caring adult mentors who provide emotional support, guidance, and companionship during this difficult time.
Community Outreach and Activities: We organize group events, workshops, and activities where children can connect with others who are going through similar experiences. These activities also foster social skills, build resilience, and help children process their grief in a healthy way.
Financial Support for Families: We offer financial assistance to help families with funeral costs, therapy sessions, and other expenses related to the loss. We also support our children’s costs as it relates to extracurricular activities and school related expenses.
